Serial connection to OpenPDC Tester problem

Jun 29, 2015 at 11:51 PM
Hello,

I connected the front port of SEL-351S to the USB port of the computer and set the serial port to read the Sync. data. The Id of Sync. is 1. When the connect key is hit the error message appears on the screen says "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it".
This port is used to set/read data of relay and therefore the computer setting might not have any problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

I copy the entire error message from the message window here:
Attempting connection to "ID 1 using IEEE C37.118-2005 over Serial" at 6/29/2015 7:03:58 PM using IEEE C37.118-2005
Connected to device "ID 1 using IEEE C37.118-2005 over Serial" at 6/29/2015 7:03:58 PM using IEEE C37.118-2005
Exception: Bad data stream, expected sync byte 0xAA as first byte in IEEE C37.118 frame, got 0x41

It should be mentioned that I am a new user of the software.

Thanks

There is no direct "USB" transport option built-into the openPDC - you will need a real serial-port (using USB to serial converter will work fine) or connect via IP.

I am unaware of a PMU that connects using USB - can you tell me the vendor device you are using?

Thanks,
